frequently asked questions
What does it mean to be a non-denominational church? It simply means that SFRC is not directly associated, affiliated, or connected with any man-made organization or institution. Our allegiance is to the Lord and His Word only. This means that we have the freedom to connect, support, and have fellowship with brothers, sisters, and ministries anywhere at any time without needing permission from an overhead organization.
Is SFRC considered a "charismatic" or "spirit-filled" church? We're not really a fan of labels but we are an absolute fan of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit and often see miracles happen. We also believe that the biblical Five-Fold ministry offices are still in operation today. At the end of the day, we just want God to take complete control over every service because we desire His presence more than anything. Some services may be considered more "charismatic" than others depending on how God is moving.
Does SFRC have official church membership? No we do not have "official" membership. Our doors are open to anyone and everyone who wishes to call us their church. We are not exclusive and there are no additional perks to being a "member". We welcome all with open arms and consider every first-time visitor as a family member the moment they walk through our doors.
Is there a dress code to attend one of your services? We do not have an official dress code and believe that the most important thing isn't what you're wearing but that you're seeking the Lord. Some people show up in button-up shirts with a tie and others show up in shorts and a T-shirt. Whether you're wearing dress shoes or sandals does not concern us. Our leaders are often seen in fashionable casual or semi-dressy attire. However, we do ask that our regular attenders refrain from wearing clothing that is revealing or contains inappropriate images/messages.
Does SFRC support mission work and outside missionaries? Yes, our ministry actively engages in evangelism within our community but also frequently crosses the border of Mexico to supply needy families with clothing, shoes, blankets, and toys. Apart from our own mission work, we also financially support missionaries connected to our ministry and have them visit to share their experiences from time to time.
Can women serve in leadership at SFRC? Absolutely! We believe in the God-given gifts and talents people posses and allow people to serve, lead, and teach according to their spiritual level, not their gender. We thank God for the many amazing men and women who serve in every area of our ministry.
Are pastors and leaders available outside of church services for personal ministry? Apart from our regularly scheduled services, fellowships, and events, our pastors and leaders often make themselves available to anyone who is in need of prayer or godly counsel. We have leaders dedicated to marriage counseling, inner healing, deliverance, and prophetic guidance. Just tell an usher what you're in need of and they can direct you to the right people to schedule a meeting.
